Rams Agree to Terms With DT Chris Hovan

Free agent defensive tackle Chris Hovan has agreed to terms with the St. Louis Rams, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hovan, 31, has started 79 games over the last five seasons for the Buccaneers, totaling 220 tackles, including 5 quarterback sacks. A three-year captain for the Bucs, Hovan was released on April 26, just days after the Buccaneers used their first two picks in the 2010 NFL Draft on defensive tackles.

A first-round pick (25th overall) out of Boston College by the Minnesota Vikings in 2000, Hovan has only missed four games throughout his career. A starter from the moment he entered the NFL, Hovan has posted 22 career quarterback sacks during his career.
