Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Pat Williams plans to play beyond the 2010 season, the Associated Press reports.

Williams, who turned 38 last month, is in the final year of a three-year contract extension signed in 2007. Williams had suggested during the off-season that 2010, his 14th year in the NFL, would be his final season.

Primarily playing on running downs, Williams (6-3, 324) has 20 tackles and a forced fumble in 2010, and last week told Tom Pelissero of 1500 ESPN Twin Cities that he was having fun again.

"I kind of stressed out a little bit," Williams said of his retirement talk in the off-season. "So, that's all mind-wise, put my mind back right. I'm back having fun."

Williams, as well as teammate Kevin Williams (no relation), are facing sfour-game suspension after taking StarCaps, a weight-loss supplement that contains a substance that's banned by the NFL. They have appealed their suspension in Minnesota state court, and their case has been bouncing around the legal system for nearly two years. Last week, The Supreme Court declined the NFL's request to hear the case.

Should Williams return for another season, he will likely be forced to serve that four-game suspension.
