Texans TE Owen Daniels Ruled "Out" For Sunday

Houston Texans tight end Owen Daniels will not play this Sunday against the New York Jets, head coach Gary Kubiak announced.

Daniels has a hamstring injury that kept him out of the last two games, both of which the Texans have lost.

In 7 games this season, the restricted free agent has caught 16 passes for 200 yards. Tight ends Joel Dreessen and James Casey are replacing Daniels. The duo has combined to catch 12 passes for 157 yards the last two weeks.

Texans quarterback Matt Schaub (knee) took all his normal practice reps on Friday, Kubiak added. Schaub was hospitalized on Tuesday night for a bursa sac issue in his knee, causing him to miss Wednesday's practice.
