Seahawks Stockpiling Former Packers Offensive Linemen

As first reported by the Green Bay Press-Gazette, the Seahawks confirmed the signing of offensive tackle Breno Giacomini off the Green Bay Packers' practice squad.

The Seahawks also announced that they have signed free agent guard Allen Barbre, and released offensive linemen Mansfield Wrotto and Mike Gibson.

Barbre was a fourth-round pick (119th overall) out of Missouri Southern State by the Packers in 2007, while Giacomini was chosen in the fifth-round by the Packers in 2008. The 6-4, 300-pound Barbre started seven games at right tackle for the Packers last season, but will likely play guard for the Seahawks.

Barbre and Giacomini reunite with guard Evan Dietrich-Smith, a former Packers offensive lineman who was claimed off waivers by the Seahawks earlier this month. Dietrich-Smith has been a gameday inactive in all three games this season.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider worked in the Packers' front office between 2002 and 2009.
