Seahawks Claim WR Kole Heckendorf Off Waivers

The Seattle Seahawks announced that they have claimed first-year wide receiver Kole Heckendorf off waivers from the Detroit Lions.

To make room on the team's 80-man off-season roster, the Seahawks waived undrafted rookie wide receiver Chris Duvalt.

Heckendorf (6-2, 191) entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of North Dakota State, signing with the Green Bay Packers where he caught 3 passes for 30 yards and posted one special teams tackle during the pre-season. Waived at the end of training camp, Heckendorf hit the workout circuit until he was signed to the Detroit Lions practice squad in October.

Signed to a two-year "Reserve/Futures" contract by the Lions in January, Heckendorf is signed through the 2011 season.
