The Seattle Seahawks have acquired offensive tackle Tyler Polumbus from the Detroit Lions, reports Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

Trade compensation is not yet known.

Detroit had claimed Polumbus off waivers from the Denver Broncos last week. The Seahawks and Houston Texans had also made claims the 6-8, 330-pound Polumbus.

Signed by the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Colorado in 2008, Polumbus was active in 31 of 32 games over the last two seasons. Polumbus started 8 games at right tackle for the Broncos in 2009, but was not a fit for Denver's new power-blocking system, and is more suited to play in a zone-blocking system, which both Houston and Seattle run.

With 2010 first-round pick Russell Okung slowed by an ankle injury, and back-up tackle Ray Willis out indefinitely following knee surgery, the Seahawks have been the market for offensive tackle depth.

Polumbus is signed through the 2010 season, and is slated to earn a $475,000 base salary.

It was reported earlier that the Lions had waived Polumbus.
