Saints "Waived/Injured" RB Lynell Hamilton

The New Orleans Saints have "Waived/Injured" running back Lynell Hamilton, the team announced on Saturday.

Undrafted rookie linebacker Harry Coleman was signed to take Hamilton's place on the 80-man roster. Coleman played his college ball at LSU and spent the mini-camp and OTAs with the Saints before being waived on July 22.

Hamilton torn an ACL during a joint practice with the New England Patriots on Wednesday. The former undrafted free agent from San Diego State appeared in nine games for the Saints in 2009, carrying the ball 35 times for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns, seeing the bulk of his playing time in the final two weeks of the regular season.

Hamilton gained 22 yards on six carries with one touchdown in two playoff games, but was not active for their win in Super Bowl XLIV.
