Rams to Interview Musgrave, Bevell for Coordinator Position

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that talks between the St. Louis Rams and Josh McDaniels are breaking down, and that the team is seeking permission from other NFL teams to interview offensive coordinator candidates.

Mortensen identifies Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and Atlanta Falcons quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave as two candidates the Rams wish to speak to.

The Rams were denied permission to interview a third candidate, Dirk Koetter of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Bevell is still in play for the Vikings' job, whcih he's held for the last five seasons.

A former NFL quarterback, Musgrave has had offensive coordinator stints with the Carolina Panthers (2000) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2003-04). Musgrave is scheduled to interview with the Vikings and Cleveland Browns this week.

Browns head coach Pat Shurmur was the Rams' offensive coordinator the past two seasons.

Fired by the Denver Broncos in December, McDaniels has interviewed with both the Rams and Vikings recently. Michael Lombardi of the NFL Network reported that McDaniels was leaning towards the Rams.R
