Rams Sign DT Jermelle Cudjo Off Practice Squad

The St. Louis Rams have signed rookie defensive tackle Jermelle Cudjo off the practice squad, reports Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post Dispatch.

Veteran cornerback Kevin Dockery has been released.

A 6-2, 293-pound undrafted free agent from Central Oklahoma, Cudjo adds depth to a defensive line that will be without Dorell Scott (ankle) and may be without Clifton Ryan, who was listed as "doubtful" with migraines.

Cudjo opened the season on the Rams' 53-man roster, but was not active for the season-opening loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Cudjo posted four tackles, including two quarterback sacks, during the pre-season.

Dockery (5-8, 188) joined the Rams this season after spending the first four years of his career with the New York Giants. Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo becamse the Giants' defensive coordinator in 2007, a season that saw Dockery make six starts in 13 games and post a career-high 46 tackles.

Dockery was active for the Rams' season-opener, where he recorded a special teams tackle and pass defensed.
