The positive LVN news is refreshing for sure but still needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Whyle seems to be taking a step forward which is solid news because Musgrave seems to be stuck in the mud. The gigantic Y TE Swinson has had positive practices too.

Jager Burton looks like a very good win for a 5th round pick & seems to extend the streak of late round OL hits.

Cox also seems to be taking advantage of a huge chance for him to get a lot of snaps and get himself a nice payday in 2027 from someone.

DDS at least made positive news for the backup Edge rushers and that's a positive because Sorrel news is non-existent and Oliver is going to start getting Marshawn Lloyd comparisons.

Check a box for the backup WRs, Neyor is making progress to be a contributor. I think GBs entire WR group is underrated and depending on injuries could be one of the strongest position groups this year.

No bad news from the CBs other than the Nixon holdout rumors. Even though the CB room is a work in progress, Nixon is not as big of a need for GB as he perceives himself to be.

All of the injuries is disappointing, is that normal? Did we have more or less last year? Some players are missing big chances to gain solid footing at their positions.

It's too early to get excited or down on Trey Smack. It's too early to say we could have kept those 7th round picks and added a much-needed Y TE in Dallen Bentley, and a great swing tackle prospect in Diego Pounds. The other kicker looks strong too at this point which also leads to uncertainty. Smack has made a million kicks already in his life and will probably be just fine.

Pounds was a UDFA, so if they really wanted him, there was also a chance to guarantee him some $$ and sign him off the post draft market. Apparently the DIC liked him more than the Packers (and most of the rest of the NFL) braintrust.

Pounds was also projected to be a 5th/6th round pick, and he was one of the highest rated UDFAs. He also fit our criteria for larger O-linemen. A starting LT in the SEC would always be welcome.

The UDFAs are smarter if they sign with a team where they have a legitimate chance to make the team. $$$ are important but are not the only factor. Sometimes the teams just being close to them in proximity make the difference. I would have drafted Pounds if we would have kept the 7th round pick, he could have played multiple positions and maybe swing tackle. The Mississippi State program is producing a lot of quality players, at least they did while Kiffin was there. And I think we both liked Dallen Bentley, Dobber. Maybe he won't make the Broncos 53 and can be poached from their PS.

I’m interested in very little in OTAs other than who is getting the opportunities and who is healthy. However, there are some things that can be seen. One of which is burst/explosion and another is route precision. I’d mention hands, but for once we really don’t seem to have anyone noted as dropping passes.

So what sounded promising? LVN apparently having demonstrating a quicker get off. Cox continues using to show he has one. McClellan seems to have some pop. However, knowing if he can hold up defensively at NT will have to wait for contact.

The previously very raw but hugely physically talented Neyor apparently having greatly improved route technique. Melton too apparently. Lloyd reminding us of what he can do that no one else can, if he can stay healthy.

Cisse not looking lost at least. I did not get a feel for his instincts. One insight was that the unheralded Marlon Jones may actually have some. I will keep an eye out for him in the depths camp now.

That’s about it and will be till the pads are on and defenders can use their hands and leverage. Only 2 real negatives, the number of injuries (though that may be wiped out by the summer down time) and Smack. There no way that’s good, although it’s not terminal yet by any means, but 75% in summer conditions is still bad.

I'm interested in Gute picking up a Starting Edge rusher....a Vet RB2....aVet TE who can block and catch a bit...OL Burton is a pleasant surprise...Looking forward to an Edge rusher already on the squad to step up...but I wouldn't bet a Super Bowl appearance miss on it like the last several years have been by our GM not doing his due diligence for GB...Get after it Gute...Parsons / Kraft / Watson and others are only here for 3 years or so before they get replaced by another..window is NOW.

I am with you 100% Phantom. It will make the season that much harder if we start 2-2 or 1-3 because we have no pass rush. I was a big fan of A J Epenesa up until the Eagles signed him for a paltrey $1.4 million. Cmon Gutey, that was a bargain for 5-8 sacks this year. Really a bargain compared to what Enagbare got. Clowney is still there, for now.

This RB situation is a stick of dynamite with a slow burning fuse for GB. Not only were we looking for a new #2 RB, but we might not even have a #1 if this investigation turns something up. This is a lose/lose deal for the Packers because even if Jacobs gets free of this mess, he has damaged his and the Packers reputation. I really think GB planned on moving on from him in 2027 anyway, we could save alot of $$$ by waiving him this year too. There seem to be viable options available, but just like the free agents pass rushers they won't be available forever.

TE is a need just like pass rusher, only this position group is smaller and our best guy is also coming off ACL surgery. I would make these 3 adds sooner rather than later. The cost would be minimal to add an Edge, RB & TE. It is already mid June, the season will be here before we know it.
