Packers S Morgan Burnett Plans to Save His Money

Rookie safety doesn't plan on spending his paycheck extravagantly.

Green Bay Packers third-round safety Morgan Burnett agreed to four-year contract on Friday.

Aside from a winter coat, and perhaps some winter driving lessons, the former Georgia Tech star tells D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he plans to save his money.

"I really don't know," Burnett said when asked what his first purchase will be. "I'm just going to try my best to save my money, really."

Exact details of the contract are unknown, but based on the NFL slotting system, Burnett likely received a signing bonus in the vicinity of $875,000.

Good! Glad to hear it! Wish more players took that approach, rather than the spend spend spend philosophy.
