Packers' Poppinga, Neal to Have Season-Ending Surgeries

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy announced during his Monday morning press conference that veteran linebacker Brady Poppinga and second-round defensive lineman Mike Neal will have season-ending surgeries.

Poppinga had arthroscopic surgery on Monday, where it was determined that more surgery was needed to repair a knee that he had surgery on during his rookie season.

A fourth-round pick (125th overall) out of BYU in 2005, Poppinga has 244 tackles, 5 quarterback sacks, and a pair of interceptions in 81 games for the Packers the last six seasons. Poppinga injured his knee against the Miami Dolphins in Week 6, when he got the start in place of an injured Clay Matthews.

Neal attempted to rehab his shoulder injury, which limited the 6-3, 294-pounder from Purdue to two games this season.
