Packers G Josh Sitton Backs Teammate

Guard Josh Sitton was one of six members of the Green Bay Packers to be interviewed Saturday morning by Lake Delton, Wisconsin police during their investigation into a sexual assault that allegedy occurred in the condo that Sitton and his teammates were staying.

Cleared of any wrongdoing, Sitton is less than thrilled that his name is associated with the allegations, and contends that the allegations against teammate Brandon Underwood are bogus.

"It’s been a little stressful because you know your name is involved with something," Sitton said, according to D.C. Reeves of the Pensacola News Journal. "But it’s over now, it’s been set straight on who’s been cleared. But it still sucks because it leaves a cloud over your name even though you weren’t involved with anything."

Sitton is a native of Pensacola, Florida.

"Just to have my name tainted is disappointing," Sitton said. "I’m the most disappointed that our names even got out (in public) because there are no allegations against us.

"I know Underwood is innocent when it comes to any legal issues," Sitton added. "That’s my personal opinion about that. Legally, my opinion is that he didn’t do anything wrong or whatever. The allegations are very bogus."

The case is scheduled to be turned over to the district attorney on Tuesday, who could make a decision on whether or not to press charges by Friday.
