Lions Claim CB Brandon McDonald Off Waivers

The Detroit Lions (who else?) have claimed cornerback Brandon McDonald off waivers, reports Tom Kowalski of MLive.com.
McDonald was placed on waivers by the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday.
A fifth-round pick (140th overall) out of Memphis by the Cleveland Browns in 2007, McDonald (5-10, 185) started 27 games during his first three seasons in the NFL before he was placed on waivers at the end of training camp.
Claimed by the Cardinals, McDonald was inactive for the first month of the season before dressing for the past two games, posting no statistics in a reserve role.
McDonald has been earning a $1.101 million dollar salary, which would cost the Lions $647,647 ($64,765 per week) for the remainder of the season.
