Jets, Revis Nearing Agreement on Contract

Tim Cowlishaw of the Dallas Morning News took considerable heat this week when he reported that the New York Jets and All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis were nearing a contract extension, and that one could be announced on Wednesday.
Today, Dan Graziano of FanHouse reports that the Jets and Revis are nearing a deal, and that Cowlishaw's reporting was accurate.
Revis has reportedly been seeking a contract extension in excess of $150 million, with some reports having Revis' camp seeking $162 million over the next 10 years. Total value hasn't been as much of an issue, with the Jets reportedly willing to go as high as $120 million over 10 years. The issue has been guaranteed money, with the Jets reportedly being unwilling to discuss the guaranteed amount before a total value is agreed upon.
