Giants Sign LB Micah Johnson

University of Kentucky undrafted linebacker Micah Johnson tried out for the New York Giants during their three-day mini-camp, and according to his Facebook page, Johnson will sign a contract tomorrow.

“The coaches are excited about me...I’m a Giant! Gettin’ signed tomorrow", Johnson wrote, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.

Primarily a run-stuffing linebacker, Johnson (6-2, 258) posted 285 tackles during his four years in Lexington, earning all-SEC honors three times. Johnson battled knee injuries throughout his senior season, including his MCL during the Music City Bowl in December.

Johnson ran a 4.99 time in the 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine in February, and put up 31 reps in the bench press. Johnson improved his time in the 40-yard dash at his Pro Day, but it was not enough to hear his name called during last month's draft.

Johnson is the only tryout player to receive a contract offer.
