Giants Authorize NFLPA to Decertify

The New York Giants players have granted authorization to NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith to decertify the union should negotiations with the NFL not result in a new collective bargaining agreement, Newsday's Bob Glauber reports.

Thus far, the players on the New Orleans Saints, Indianapolis Colts, and Philadelphia Eagles have also voted to authorize the union to decertify.

If the union decertifies itself, it would able to sue the NFL under United States anti-trust laws if owners attempt a lockout next March.
