Chargers Waive Three, Release NT Ian Scott

In addition to waiving second-year safety Kevin Ellison, the San Diego Chargers have waived undrafted rookies Cory Jackson, a fullback from Maryland, and Jordyn Jackson, a wide receiver from Eastern Oregon.

Veteran defensive lineman Ian Scott, who was penciled in as the Chargers' starting nose tackle for 2010, was also released.

Signed midway through the 2008 season, the 6-3, 315-pound Scott appeared in 16 games, totaling 16 tackles and posting one quarterback sack for the Chargers. Scott started 7 of 12 games in 2009, and also started in the Chargers' 2009 Wild Card playoff game against the New York Jets, totaling 4 tackles in the 17-14 loss.

With Scott released, 2010 fifth-round pick Cam Thomas and journeymen Ogembi Nwagbuo and Antonio Garay are the only nose tackle candidates on the Chargers' roster.
