Broncos Sign 3rd Round C J.D. Walton

The Denver Broncos have signed third-round center J.D. Walton, Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports.

Wilson adds that the deal is for four years, and is worth $2.588 million dollars. Walton received a $798,500 signing bonus.

Walton (6-3, 300) began his college career at Arizona State, and transferred to Baylor in 2006. After sitting out a season, Walton started all 36 of his games for the Bears. Walton earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors in 2008, and last season, was second-team All-Big 12, as well as a Remington Trophy finalist and first-team All-American.

Walton, the 80th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, is expected to earn the Broncos' starting center job this season.
