Bears WR Devin Hester to Work With Isaac Bruce

To help learn Mike Martz's offense, Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports Chicago Bears wide receiver Devin Hester plans to meet with recently retired wide receiver Isaac Bruce.

"We'll get on a field, watch some film and everything," Hester said. "I can't learn from anyone better."

Jensen adds that Hester is playing the same "Z" position in Martz's offense that Bruce played, and that decision to reach out to Bruce was all Hester's.

In seven seasons as the "Z" receiver in Martz's system, Bruce caught 501 passes for 7,615 yards and 48 touchdowns, an average of 72-1,088-7 per season, and went to three of his four Pro Bowls after the 1999, 2000, and 2001 seasons.

"It's just a perfect fit," Bears head coach Lovie Smith said. "I can see why a guy like Devin would reach out to a guy like Isaac."
