Bears LB Nick Roach Signs RFA Tender

Chicago Bears restricted free agent linebacker Nick Roach has signed his one-year tender, Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Signed by the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Northwestern in 2007, Roach (6-0, 234) was tendered at the "Second Round" level, which will pay him $1.684 million dollars in 2010.

Roach posted 14 tackles, a quarterback sack, and two special teams fumble recoveries as a rookie with the Chargers, but was waived at the end of training camp and re-signed to the team's practice squad. Signed by the Bears off the Chargers' practice squad, Roach made three tackles in three games during his rookie season, and was a part-time starter the following two seasons.

In 33 games, including 24 starts, for the Bears, Roach has 115 tackles, two quarterback sacks and three forced fumbles.
