This indicates to me Jimmy Graham is significantly more effective when used less often in specific packages. Only 12 personnel where he is not blocking or 13 personnel as a decoy or split out. He made his biggest impact of the year playing only 24 snaps. Sternberger should be getting more snaps anyway in running situations as he has demonstrated to be a good and willing blocker. Sternberger even lined up at fullback a few times. He can really help the running game with Lewis.

I think we got a glimpse of next year when Sternberger takes over the starting TE spot. The fact that rookie Sternberger got more snaps than veteran Graham in a playoff game is pretty indicative of where the Packers are headed at TE.

Gary was productive with 10 reps, he was penetrating on almost every down .

Did nothing. They were supposed to contain not penetrate

You were in the team meetings? Sorry, but Gary was creating issues on the Seattle side of the line of scrimmage. I was at the game and noted #52 pop into my vision around the ball. Just for fun, I went and checked PFF. For what it's worth, they have Gary with the highest overall rating on defense in this game. My impression was that he was active and disruptive. Regardless of what you think he was supposed to be doing, he played very well in limited snaps.

Al, is there a way you can add PFF game grade to this analysis? That would be awesome to see. I don’t always agree with their grading but it’s fun to see what their analytics show from game to game.

I am not responding in terms of legalities, but it would be unfair to do that. PFF wants you to buy a subscription, not have one person or entity subscribe and re-post all PFF's work. To get individual grades for each game, I believe one needs a subscription.

Isn’t that the same as taking the amount of plays each player participated in?

Looks like you missed the rest of the OL after Linsley

Thanks I was kind of curious to see who might have come out after seeing Patrick at the bottom. Since all 5 are 100%, I guess they went with a jumbo type package once in the game, which might explain the one snap for Patrick.

Yep - likely on the goal line.

This is awesome Al!
What might make it even cooler is if snaps where broken down by position so we could see things like how often Z was at DT and when L Patrick was doing on the field.

It would be really cool but the NFL doesn't track that. Neither does PFF who tracks just about everything else. I understand why - would require even more hours of research.

Al, in rewatching the game I believe I saw Keke in one or two plays in the late 3rd to mid 4th quarters. I looked up the number because I didn’t know the player.

You are right. Another cut and paste error. I must still be hungover from my Green Bay trip!

Burks with 9 snaps on d!? That might match his regular season total, lol

MVS barely played. He's going to have to claw his way back next year.
Recalling Adams dropsies his 2nd year. MM was obviously right on keeping him. Lucky guess?
Maybe he is just too fast for Rodgers and throwing him off for the other players.
Is Williams hurt or is this finally headlining AJ? Although it seems to definitely show that he is not a power back.
I wonder if this changes things this week.

I do think that his injury earlier this year effected him physically and mentally. He was solid before he got hurt and ever since he's seemed to have no confidence in his lower body, which has then started to effect his trust in his hands and routes.

I think 30 was just the victim of lafluer’s game plan this week. He may use him a lot more next week against the 49ers. Seems like i remember 33 getting shut down against them last time, and 30 having some success smashing through them.

Mvs problems are mental. He needs another offseason and preseason to get right because we can't afford to let him get right against sf. Its to risky. I hope im wrong and he catches a bomb on the first play. I was tginking the other day that gut made a mistake hiding eq away for the year but then i realized if they did make him eligible to return then they probably wouldn't have lazard so nevermind on that.

He may not make the 2020 squad.

Gonna need another solid game from jimmy this week especially if lazard cant go. Richard sherman aint tre flowers. Davante will make some plays but its gonna be gmo and them who will have more opportunities. They gotta catch those 3rd down balls again. I wanna see a nice screen pass to 33 for 7 early. Them d lineman are gonna be fired up lets take em down a peg. Take the crowd out of it and get jimmy g flustered on the other end. Strike first and shake of the week 12 stank and we got a ball game. I hope anyway.

I was surprised to see Campbell get just 10 snaps. The delay in activating Greene suggests to me that Greene is not physically quite ready to play. If he is activated, he might be on a snap count. I guess I will have to wait until March or TC to see what the coaches and Gute think about Campbell vs. Greene. Maybe they will want both players if Campbell's price is right.
Fackrell played just over 50% of possible snaps, as I predicted. However, Fackrell does not appear in the stats.
I checked the play by play. GB ran 16 times to the left for 79 yards. That's a 4.9 average but there were two big chunk plays: 23 yards by Jones and 18 by Swervin Ervin. GB ran 8 times to the right and gained 6 yards (that includes a 5 yard gain by Lazard). GB ran 4 times up the middle for 9 yards, but that includes two runs by Jones for TDs and a QB sneak. I didn't include AR's 14-yard scramble.
LaFleur can say that Veldheer's presence at RT didn't cause him to change his playcalls all he wants. Either the game plan was to run away from Clowney or they ran right just enough to keep the defense honest, or try to. Clearly GB couldn't run to the right at all. Veldheer held up pretty well (not perfectly) in pass pro, though.

I suspect the flu had more to say in Pettine personnel groupings than the Packers like to admit. Base 3-4-4 and 2-4-5 and some 3-4-5 slot/DB were deployed far more often than I have seen all season. 3-3-5 opened early than went away early in first half. Playing their LB group more than I saw even against the Bears or Raiders. Played man and some 0 coverage till Wilson went nuts in second half then zone with cover 2. Losing Savage hurt the secondary far worse was forced to play T. Williams backside. But, they got away with it. Right about Veldheer. Could not run block to save his life, let Seattle overload slide to Bahk and Jenkins and fill the gaps. Stuffed Packers run game for entire second half. They never had a chance..
