Love is not ready , a backup QB is supposed to be ready on moments notice ,this past week was the week of the backups , even last night the Cardinals won with a backup , Love was apprehensive all game and missed reads , one start does not make or break someone but apparently he needs better preparation .

The deal for me is, I just watch Fields almost beat the Steelers single handedly. Their defense cost them the game but not him. He looked dam polished running, passing, making good decisions and its only game 8 in his career.
Love has more experience then Fields considering he has gone through 2 training camps and played in numerous pre season games extensively. He sure didnt show any of that last night. Looked glazed eyed and not sure of what to do. If he truely is the plan for the future it wont work. He will not make it.

Perri your dishonesty and is amazing. Clearly you are very knowledgeable and skilled along about football. Andy was neutral on your comment about Gary. Why? Because Gary is like the baseball player that hits .247, 100+ strikeouts and hit 26 home runs. He never sets the edge, and is a one trick pony bull rush guy. We got burned on the pick with this guy. If Gary had Barnes game you’d have him in the HOF. If you want to be credible be honest.

I remember the pre draft and analyst were saying this about Gary, someone who I was familiar with being a Mich fan.
He lacks upper body strength and has trouble getting by the bigger offensive linemen. He has the ability to go missing in games and has a lot little nagging injuries. Was not the dominant force Mich thought they were getting out of high school, it just never happened. He would make a round two or possibly early round three pick as a back up needing development
When I heard his name at what 12, holy shit what the hell is Gutt thinking. Did he not pay any attention to the guys stats and play in college and listen to the analyst who know players??????????
Gary absolutely reminded me of Perry, who was from Mich but played at usc. Both would make a play here or there, then go missing in the game and you wouldnt know if they were even on the field.
Both will light it up though in the contract year to get the big money then thats it, they are done.
PS, Gary was cleared by a doctor to return to playing and he refused, saying He gets to decide when he was ready. He was thinking of doing a bosa and sitting out the rest of the season and prepping for the draft. Nice way to support your team. Another me guy.

There were so many circumstances in this game that you both did an excellent job nailing down. I am glad you mentioned field position which was critical in this game with an inexperienced QB. Daunting task for Love to have that much field to cover throughout the game. The game within the game were the two punters going at it, both doing a great job, but the Chiefs punter did a great job pinning the Packers in their own end of the field.
Of course the play -calling strategy was a head-scratcher for sure. To me it is a team effort with LaFluer, Hackett and Getsy who develop the game plan and also communicate throughout the game. Hard to understand the lack of planning and adjustments. Hope everyone learns from this. GPG!

This is a nice video (thanks Bmore for finding it), purportedly about Jordan Love, also highlights the OL. My take on this:
1. QBs have to be accurate. Love was not accurate.
2. QBs have to use good footwork. Love's is better than it used to be.
3. QBs have to recognize defenses.
4. QBs have to adjust the OL protections.
5. QBs have to have a hot read, and the hot read has to know he's the hot read.
All five probably can be improved. Accuracy is my biggest concern. OTOH, we tend to get used to the accuracy that AR has displayed over the years versus the level that is common in the NFL. No QB can have free rushers coming up through the "B" gap and play football well.

I disagree on Kenny Clark's snap load. Don't get caught up in the percentages. In the first 8 games, Clark played 54 or fewer snaps 6 times, and played 60 and 62 snaps in the other games. That's not outrageous for a DT.
Aaron Donald: 865, 926, 914, 902 extrapolated, 829, 915 snaps. 56/game.
Leonard Williams: Over 800 snaps in each of the 5 years he played 16 games.
Deforest Buckner: Over 800 snaps every year all 6 seasons extrapolated.
Jonathan Allen: averages 771 snaps per season except for his rookie year.
Fletcher Cox: averages over 820 snaps/season excluding his rookie year.
Grady Jarrett: averages 58 snaps/game excluding his rookie year.
DJ Reader: True NT averages 41 snaps/game excluding rookie year.
Kenny Clark: 50.15 snaps per game excluding his rookie year.
Clark is paid like an elite DT at $17.1M/year. Those positions play 50 to 60 snaps per game. Nothing wrong with Clark's usage.
