From what I’ve read, I like this pickup. Physically and athletically seems a close parallel to Sam Shields. Same size and weight, very fast, agile. Can’t hurt. Seems the Jaguars hoped to stash him on the PS.

He had a good 40 time, but terrible times in the shuttle and 3 cone. Cone was off the charts terrible.

It depends which you premise it’s on. Scouting reports and college reviews or his pro day. The two support diametrically opposite conclusions. He was carrying a hamstring injury sustained during his combine run at his pro day.
Ultimately, I’ve never seen him play, but the body of material countering his pro day is enough to give pause to the assumption that the pro day is an accurate depiction. I do trust our scouts to be able to tell on a question like that.

I would have preferred some help at inside linebacker.

Aren’t the Packers still one player short on the 53 man roster after the move of Ento and Martin to IR and with the addition of Nickerson?

Yes, the roster currently stands at 52.

Noticed the phantom down voter missed Aaron. Is this a clue?

Thanks Aaron. Unfortunately, unless the player is off the practice squad, they won’t have much practice time? I know you mentioned Covid rules around testing might even cost another day. Not ideal.

By my count they have 52 on the roster and 15 on the PS and that is without ILB De'Jon Harris or WR Robert Foster who have to pass Covid testing before being officially added to the roster or PS.
Assuming 1 gets added to the roster and 1 to the PS unless my count is off and they both go to the PS, leaving a spot for OC Justin Britt or NT Daylon Mack, who both worked out recently.
I'm curious to see which 4 PS guys they choose to protect from other teams this week. I'd probably go with Tipa Galeai, John Lovett, Stanford Samuels and De'Jon Harris or Robert Foster.

I doubt the newcomers will be candidates to play this week, which I think is the intent of the protection.
Galeai is unlikely due to numbers in front of him and need to add muscle. Lovett perhaps and Samuels perhaps, but I’d guess it will be where depth is needed/ST. Someone like Light might be if they really are worried about tackle depth. Perhaps Previlon. Not the players I think best, but ones who might need to back up and know the system at an area with injury uncertainty.
If there is a player that they really want on the 53 to protect I suspect he would be there at this point. There is an open spot at the moment.
