Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson to Sign RFA Tender

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson will sign his one-year tender, Judd Zulgad of the Star Tribune reports.

A second-round pick (64th overall) out of Alabama State in 2006, Jackson was tendered at the "Original Round" level, which would have cost another team a third-round pick had they signed Jackson to an offer sheet that the Vikings would not match.

In 33 games, including 19 starts during his first three seasons with the Vikings, Jackson has completed 58.7% of his 545 pass attempts for 3,643 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions, resulting in a passer rating of 77.9.

Jackson is expected to either back-up Brett Favre or, should Favre retire, compete with Sage Rosenfels for the starting job in 2010.
