Vikings FB Naufahu Tahi Signs RFA Tender

Minnesota Vikings fullback Naufahu Tahi has signed his one-year tender, reports Judd Zulgad of the Star Tribune.

Tahi entered the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of BYU, and was signed by the Vikings off the Bengals' practice squad in 2006. Tahi has appeared in 41 games, with 8 starts, and has helped pave the way for running back Adrian Peterson to finish in the Top 5 in rushing in each of the last three seasons, including rushing for an NFL-high 1,760 yards during the 2008 season.

Tahi himself has just 20 yards rushing, but has added 27 receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown out of the backfield.

Last off-season, the Vikings chose to match a one-year, $1.4 million dollar offer sheet Tahi signed with the Bengals. This off-season, the Vikings tendered Tahi at the "Right of First Refusal" level, which carried no draft choice compensation had the 6-0, 254-pound fullback signed an offer sheet with another club.

Tahi will earn $1.176 million dollars in 2010 under the one-year tender.

With Tahi signed, only restricted free agent defensive end Ray Edwards and quarterback Tarvaris Jackson have not signed their one-year offers from the Vikings.
