Vikings Agree to Terms With 4th Round DE Everson Griffen

ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert reports that Minnesota Vikings fourth-round defensive end Everson Griffen has agreed to terms on a four-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

A pass-rush specialist during his three seasons at USC, Griffen amassed 84 total tackles, with 21 for a loss and 18 quarterback sacks. Griffen earned honorable mention All Pac-10 honors after his sophomore season, and was second-team All Pac-10 after last season.

The 100th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, Griffen (6-3, 273) ran a 4.6-40 at his pro day after posting 32 reps on the bench press at the 2010 Scouting Combine. That combination of speed and athleticism have the Vikings feeling as through Griffen could be a solid end against the run, and provide some pass-rush from the “3” technique in their 4-3 system.
