Unofficial Nike NFL Uniform Designs for 2012

It was announced last month that, beginning in 2012, Nike will be the official uniform supplier of the National Football League. A few weeks later, there are now rumored, completely unofficial sketches of Nike's Pro Combat Uniform Designs for their inaugural season as the league's uniform supplier.

When awarded the uniform rights, Nike had expressed a desire to make big changes.

"We plan on changing the NFL jersey dramatically just like we've done with the college programs, using new thinking and the greatest technology available," Nike Brand President Charlie Denson told CNBC last month. "The NFL program hasn't had the same type of advancement in recent years."

The NFL quickly walked the statement back, with league spokesman Brian McCarthy stating that the changes will be "tech/performance related", not changing actual logos and colors.

It's important to remember McCarthy's statement when viewing these sketches, because many of the color schemes and logos are different from current models, some vastly so, which is something Nike would not have license to alter.
