Trent Edwards Focused on the Present

Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards is the early favorite to enter training camp atop head coach Chan Gailey's "pecking order", but Rodney McKissic of the Buffalo News reports the fourth-year passer isn't looking that far ahead.

"To be honest, I'm really not thinking that far ahead," Edwards said on Monday. "I feel like that's a long way in the distance for me. We still have an OTA [Tuesday] and a mini-camp coming up at the end of this week.

"So however it plays out, that's [Coach Gailey's] decision. I really don't think that far ahead so I'm worried about the OTA"

Edwards also praised the approach that Gailey has taken to the position.

"I think that he's done a fair job with being honest with us," Edwards said. "We're splitting reps evenly. I think they have it down to every single rep that we're getting and everyone gets the same amount. So you can't say one guy got more than the other guy but what it comes down to it you've got to make plays when you're out there and when you're not you've got to sit back there and learn what you need to learn."
