Titans Sign 6th Round QB Rusty Smith

John Glennon of The Tennessean reports the Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with sixth-round quarterback Rusty Smith.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

A three-year starter at Florida Atlantic, the 6-5, 224-pound Smith completed 56.4% of his 1,361 pass attempts for 10,112 yards, with 76 touchdowns and 36 interceptions. Smith earned first-team All-Sun Belt honors and was named that conference's Player of the Year in 2007, after throwing for over 3,600 yards with 32 touchdowns during his first full season as the starting quarterback.

Smith has prototype NFL size and a strong arm, but is coming off a shoulder injury that limited to 8 games as senior. A developmental quarterback behind veterans Vince Young, Kerry Collins, and Chris Simms, Smith may not see much action during training camp, and could be ticketed for the practice squad.
