Steelers Re-Sign QB Byron Leftwich

Two days after releasing him to add depth to the defensive line, the Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed quarterback Byron Leftwich.
Defensive lineman Steve McLendon, who was added off the practice squad on Saturday and had a tackle and fumble recovery on Sunday, has been waived.
Steelers starting quarterback Dennis Dixon injured a knee during Sunday's 19-11 win over the Tennessee Titans, and was replaced by Charlie Batch, the only other quarterback on the 53-man roster.
The re-signed Leftwich could be in the mix to start next Sunday against the 2-0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
"I don't know who is going to play quarterback. I know it won't be me. I'm not good enough," Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said after Sunday's game.
