Steelers QB Byron Leftwich Has MCL Damage

Pro Player Solutions, whose website prominently features Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Byron Leftwich, is reporting on their Twitter account that Leftwich has a torn MCL.
Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com reports followed up on that tweet, and discovered that Leftwich has potentially serious damage to the MCL, but won't go as far as to speculate on the status of the ligament.
The injury occurred to his left knee, which is Leftwich's plant leg. An MRI should confirm whether or not Leftwich has a torn ligament, and whether or not Dennis Dixon or Charlie Batch are the starting quarterback against the Atlanta Falcons on September 12.
