Seahawks to Sign QB Nate Davis
By admin
The Seattle Seahawks are set to sign quarterback Nate Davis, Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com reports.
A fifth-round pick out of Ball State in 2009, Davis has completed 52-of-93 pass attempts for 615 yards with 3 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in six pre-season games.
Davis has not appeared in a regular season game, and spent much of 2010 on the 49ers' practice squad. Davis' signing with Seattle is contingent upon him passing a physical.
Seahawks personnel executive Scot McCloughan was the 49ers' general manager when Davis was selected, so Seattle adding Davis does not come as a surprise, The only question is what roster designation Davis is joining the Seahawks under.
Seattle currently does not have an open spot on the 53-man roster, but does have one spot open on the practice squad. Seattle can also sign players to "Reserve/Future" contracts for the 2011 season.
In other Seahawks news, a league source confirmed that they have re-signed linebacker Vuna Tuihalamaka to the practice squad.
