Seahawks Sign Two Additional Tryout Players

In addition to signing wide receivers Mike Williams and Reggie Williams, and fullback Ryan Powdrell, the Seattle Seahawks announced that they have signed guard Mitch Erickson and cornerback Kennard Cox.

Second-year guard Trevor Canfield, who they signed off the Arizona Cardinals practice squad late last season, has been waived.

A seventh-round pick (251st overall) out of the University of Pittsburgh by the Buffalo Bills in 2008, Cox made three tackles during the pre-season, but was waived towards the end of training camp. Cox spent several weeks on the Green Bay Packers' practice squad before being signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars active roster.

Cox appeared in a pair of games for the Jaguars at end of the 2008 season, and was re-signed for the 2009 season. Cox had 7 tackles during the '09 pre-season, and spent much of the regular season shuttling between the Jaguars' active roster and practice squad. In six games for the Jaguars, Cox totaled three tackles.

Erickson, who played his college ball at South Dakota State, was signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2008. The 6-6, 290-pound guard spent the last two seasons on the practice squad, and has to appear in an NFL game.
