Seahawks Re-Sign C/G Chris White

According to a league source, the Seattle Seahawks have re-signed center/guard Chris White.

White was signed by the Seahawks last Wednesday, but was released when practice squad offensive tackle Breno Giacomini and quarterback Zac Robinson were added to the 53-man roster on Saturday.

The 6-2, 290-pound former undrafted free agent from Southern Miss has split his career between the Green Bay Packers (2005-06) and Houston Texans (2007-09). White started eight games for the Texans last season.

White adds depth at center behind Chris Spencer, who missed one day of practice last week with a neck injury. No additional roster transaction was necessary as Seattle had a open spot on their roster after waiving both Giacomini and Robinson on Monday.

Robinson was claimed by the Detroit Lions on Tuesday.

The Seahawks also shuffled practice squad wide receivers, releasing Patrick Williams and signing Antonio Robinson, a 6-1, 195-pound undrafted rookie from Nicholls State who worked out for the team on Tuesday. Two open spots on the practice squad remain, with Giacomini expected back after clearing waivers on Tuesday.
