Seahawks RB Quinton Ganther's DUI Case Continued

Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times reports that Seattle Seahawks running back Quinton Ganther's arraignment in a DUI case in Sacramento, California was continued until September 1 earlier this week.

Ganther was arrested on July 3 for suspicion of DUI, and his arraignment hearing was on Wednesday.

Signed to a one-year deal this off-season, Ganther is behind Julius Jones, Justin Forsett, and Leon Washington on Seattle's running back depth chart.

Prior to his arrest, though, Seahawks general manager John Schneider singled out Ganther for his versatility as a running back and fullback, and for his ability and willingness to play special teams. Ganther also has a lengthy relationship with running backs coach Sherman Smith, who coached Ganther during his stints with the Washington Redskins and Tennessee Titans, so depending on how his legal issue shakes out, he'll likely have two advocates in the room when the Seahawks are shaping their 53-man roster.
