Seahawks Place G Max Unger on IR

The Seattle Seahawks have placed guard Max Unger on injured reserve, John Boyle of the Everett Herald reports.

Mansfield Wrotto has been re-signed to take Unger's place on the 53-man roster.

Unger was the Seahawks' second-round pick (48th overall) in 2009, and the former University of Oregon standout started all 16 games last season, including the final three at center.

Unger injured his toe during the 2010 season-opener, but played through the pain.

"He (Unger) hurt it early in the game, his big toe, and he just toughed it out," Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said on Monday.

Boyle adds that the Seahawks have added cornerback Cord Parks to the practice squad. Cornerback Ross Weaver has been released.
