Schefter Confirms Santonio Holmes' Suspension

ESPN's Adam Schefter has confirmed the ProFootballTalk.com report that wide receiver Santonio Holmes will be suspended for the first four games of the 2010 NFL season.

Holmes, who was traded by the Pittsburgh Steelers to the New York Jets last night, has violated the NFL's substance abuse policy. Reasons for these suspensions are confidential, but it's been pointed out, by several media outlets, that Holmes was arrested for marijuana possession in 2008, and has made references to marijuana on his Twitter account.

The Steelers received a fifth-round pick (155th overall) in exchange for Holmes.
