Saints Place DB Randall Gay on IR

The New Orleans Saints have placed cornerback Randall Gay on injured reserve with a concussion, head coach Sean Payton announced on Wednesday.
Payton does not expect Gay's concussion to be career-threatening.
Free agent defensive back Quincy Butler has been signed to fill Gay's roster spot.
A former undrafted free agent out of TCU, Butler (6-1, 188) started 7 of 14 games for the St. Louis Rams last season, totaling 28 tackles and 5 passes defensed. Prior to last season, Butler had appeared in two games, including one with the Dallas Cowboys during his rookie season.
Butler spent several weeks on the Saints' practice squad during the 2008 season.
