Report: Lions Place QB Matthew Stafford on IR
By admin
Tom Kowalski of MLive.com reports the Detroit Lions have placed quarterback Matthew Stafford on injured reserve.
A right shoulder injury has limited Stafford to three games this season, with the first overall pick of the 2009 NFL Draft completing 57-of-96 pass attempts for 535 yards with six touchdowns and an interception.
Veterans Shaun Hill and Drew Stanton have split the starting duties while Stafford has been on the mend. Stanton is recovering from a separated left shoulder injury, but has split the first-team reps with Hill during this week's practices.
A right knee injury landed Stafford on injured reserve last December 24, as well.
