Redskins to Sign DL Vonnie Holliday

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Washington Redskins will sign veteran defensive lineman Vonnie Holliday today.

Terms were not disclosed.

A former first-round pick (19th overall) out of North Carolina by the Green Bay Packers, Holliday, 34, has 60 quarterback sacks during a 12-year career that has also included stints with the Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, and Denver Broncos, where he started three of 16 games last season, totaling 33 tackles and 5 quarterback sacks.

The 6-5, 285-pound Holliday is strong and stout against the run, often playing defensive tackle in 4-3 fronts. In recent seasons, Holliday has adapted well to the "5" technique in 3-4 fronts with Miami and Denver, who showed some interest in bringing Holliday back in 2010.

Holliday also paid a free agent visit to the Seattle Seahawks earlier this off-season.
