Redskins Sign 7th Round OT Selvish Capers

Washington Redskins seventh-round offensive tackle Selvish Capers has signed his rookie contract, his agent, Nate Haber, announced on Twitter.
Terms were not disclosed.
A converted tight end, the 6-5, 308-pound Capers started at right tackle for the Mountaineers since midway through his sophomore season, protecting the blind-side of left-handed quarterback Pat White during the 2007 and 2008 seasons.
Capers earned second-team All-Big East honors after his senior seasons.
Blessed with prototype left tackle size, Capers will likely be looked at as a right tackle, as the Redskins used the fourth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft on Trent Williams. Capers is a physical run blocker with the athleticism to get to the second level, making him a good fit in the Redskins’ zone-blocking system. With the uncertainty at the right tackle position, Capers could conceivably earn a starting job early in his career.
Capers, the 231st overall pick, is the first of the Redskins' six draft choices to sign a contract.
