Redskins GM Expects to Have Trent Williams Signed for Camp

Washington Redskins general manager Bruce Allen expects to have first round left tackle Trent Williams signed in time for training camp.

Washington Redskins general manager Bruce Allen expects to have first round left tackle Trent Williams signed in time for training camp, Rich Campbell of the Free Lance-Star reports.

"Confident? Yes, because I’m optimistic," Allen said. "I’m aware that not one first-round draft choice has signed yet. I think we have some unique characteristics to these negotiations."

Redskins rookies and veterans report to training camp on July 29.

Williams is the lone Redskins' 2010 draft pick to not have a signed contract, and the Redskins have nearly two-thirds of their $4.47 million dollar "Rookie Pool" remaining. This means that while Williams' contract will have a base value of over $8 million dollars annually, with a max of over $10 million per season, his first-year salary number will be just under $2.9 million dollars.
