Ravens Waive LS Matt Katula
By admin
The Baltimore Ravens have waived long-snapper Matt Katula, reports Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun.
Katula, 27, had handled the long-snapping duties for the Ravens since signing as an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin in 2005, totaling 17 tackles in 80 games. Katula was signed to a five-year contract extension in 2008, and was scheduled to earn a base salary of $730,000.
Rookie free safety Brad Jones was signed to take Katula's roster spot, and rookie long-snapper Morgan Cox (Tennessee) becomes the lone snapper on the Ravens' 80-man roster.

Matt was the best. It's all about saving money. I guess these teams in the NFL don't make enough revenue
