Rams Sign LB David Nixon Off Practice Squad

With starting strong-side linebacker Na'il Diggs placed on injured reserve, the St. Louis Rams have elevated linebacker David Nixon from the practice squad, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Diggs suffered a torn pectoral muscle in Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals.

A second-year player out of BYU, Nixon (6-3, 235) began his NFL with the Oakland Raiders, who signed him as an undrafted free agent last May. Waived by the Raiders in September, Nixon was claimed by the Houston Texans, where he appeared in three games earlier this season.

In six career NFL games, Nixon has 10 tackles, with four coming on special teams.
