The Oakland Raiders announce the signing of fifth-round cornerback Walter McFadden.

Financial terms of what's believed to be a four-year deal were not disclosed.

A two-year starter at Auburn, the 5-10, 181-pound McFadden totaled 87 tackles during his Tigers career, with nine career interceptions, which he returned for 265 yards. In 2007, McFadden returned his first career interception 93 yards for a touchdown, and added another touchdown during his senior season.

McFadden earned second-team All-SEC honors after the 2009 season.

McFadden’s 4.39-40 at his pro day on March 9 likely endeared himself to the speed-obsessed franchise. McFadden will contend for the Raiders’ nickel cornerback job this season, and will be an active contributor on special teams.
