Charles Chandler of the Charlotte Observer reports that before Carolina Panthers second-round quarterback Jimmy Clausen hopped on a flight from Los Angeles to Charlotte for this weekend's mini-camp, he had to run an errand for Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith.

Take in the mail? Pick up some dry cleaning? Nope, soda.

More specifically, Cactus Cooler orange and pineapple-flavored soda, which is found only in California and Arizona.

"Steve seems like a great guy," Clausen said. "He's obviously a great player."

And by successfully appeasing his top veteran wide receiver, Clausen's NFL career is already off to a good start.
