NFL Fines Seahawks S Earl Thomas $7,500

Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas has been fined $7,500 for a taunting penalty following his game-clinching interception with less than 15 seconds remaining in the Seahawks' 27-20 win over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday.

Thomas alluded to the fine earlier this week.

"They taking the emotion out of football", Thomas tweeted on Wednesday.

Thomas drew a flag after removing his helmet and pointing skyward following the interception, which was his second in a game he had dedicated to Reggie Garrett, his late friend and former teammate at West Orange-Stark High School.

After throwing a touchdown pass during a game on September 17, Garrett collapsed on the sideline. The 17-year old passed away at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Orange later that night.

His cause of his death remains unknown.

With Thomas' permission, Garrett was wearing the #12 this season, a number the school had retired to honor Thomas.
