Free agent quarterback Mike Teel has agreed to terms with the Chicago Bears.

Free agent quarterback Mike Teel has agreed to terms with the Chicago Bears, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Teel was a sixth-round draft pick (178th overall) in the 2009 NFL Draft out of Rutgers by the Seattle Seahawks, whose general manager at the time, Tim Ruskell, is now the Director of Player Personnel for the Bears.

After completing 48.8% of his pass attempts for 238 yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception during the pre-season, Teel spent his rookie season backing up Matt Hasselbeck and Seneca Wallace

Waived by the Seahawks in May, Teel was claimed by the New England Patriots, who waived him on June 11.

Teel is expected to sign his contract on Wednesday, at which time the Bears will need to make an additional roster move.
