Marshall's Agent Brokered Trade

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports Kennard McGuire, Brandon Marshall's agent, brokered the trade that sent Marshall from the Denver Broncos to the Miami Dolphins.

Klis adds that while nothing has been finalized, parameters are in place for a long-term contract extension for Marshall.

Marshall's deal is likely to average between $9-10 million dollars per year, and include well over $20 million dollars in guaranteed money. For his hard work, Klis says McGuire earned his commission.

"In Marshall, McGuire had himself a client who kept getting in his own way. Instead of becoming an unrestricted free agent, Marshall seemed burned by the league’s reopened collective bargaining agreement which meant he could only become a restricted free agent.

A big problem, but one McGuire handled. Marshall not only is about to get his money, he’s about to play in his home state of Florida. He will wind up paying McGuire a well-deserved commission."
